Cioccolato Amore is Val's own recipe for salame di cioccolato — the Italian chocolate “salami” — made with 72% Belgian dark chocolate from forastero and trinitario beans. She has made it on Maui since 2012.

La Storia
The Story
From one farmers market to the whole island.
Val first sold Cioccolato Amore at the Napili Farmers Market, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. From there it went to farmers markets and local shops all over Maui, and then into her own packaging at the Maui Ocean Center and tourist shops across the island.
The 2023 fire took 9,000 bags, her equipment and her commercial kitchen. She rebuilt, and today she sells directly to guests, in simpler packaging.
